Larry Tanner has spent his professional life in the field of building design and construction. He has worked both in the private and the public sectors in the practice of architecture, engineering and A/E forensics. He has been owner and partner of several A/E firms. His A/E forensics includes defense/plaintiff consulting both as a private practitioner and for other nationally recognized forensics firms.

He served as the Director of Facility Planning at Texas Tech University and administered the design and construction of all new and renovated construction for a 600 acre core campus. Current public sector work includes teaching structural engineering, land surveying, and construction materials in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Construction Engineering Technology at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. He is the Manager of the Debris Impact Test Facility for the Wind Science and Engineering Research Center and is a nationally recognized wind storm researcher specializing in the analysis of the performance of buildings, manufactured housing (mobile homes) and shelters in severe storms.
